How to Prepare Chole Bhature in Hindi

Chole Bhature is a popular Indian dish that combines the richness of chole (chickpea curry) with the crispiness of bhature (deep-fried bread). If you’re looking to prepare this delicious dish at home, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make Chole Bhature in Hindi.

Ingredients for Chole Bhature

1. Chana Dal (Chickpeas) – 1 cup
2. Onion – 1 large, finely chopped
3. Tomato – 2 medium, finely chopped
4. Garlic cloves – 4, minced
5. Ginger – 1 inch piece, minced
6. Green chilies – 2, finely chopped
7. Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
8. Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
9. Red chili powder – 1 teaspoon
10. Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons
11. Garam masala – 1 teaspoon
12. Salt – to taste
13. Cooking oil – 2 tablespoons
14. Bhature flour – 2 cups
15. Water – as required
16. Oil for frying

Instructions for Chole Bhature

1. Soak the chana dal in water for 4-5 hours or overnight. Then, drain the water and grind the chana dal into a smooth paste using a blender. Keep the paste aside.

2. In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Then, add minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.

3. Add the finely chopped onions to the pan. Cook until the onions turn golden brown.

4. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and the oil separates from the mixture.

5. Now, add the ground chana dal paste to the pan. Stir well and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium flame.

6. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt to the mixture. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.

7. Add garam masala and mix well. Your chole is ready. Keep it aside to cool.

8. To make the bhature, take the bhature flour in a bowl. Add water gradually and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and soft. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

9. Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out into circles, about 1/4 inch thick.

10. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Fry the bhature until they turn golden brown and puffed up. Drain them on a paper towel.

11. Serve the chole hot with bhature and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
